This course introduces students to the fundamental elements of two- and three-dimensional Western art through reading, observation, and discussion. Students will learn the basic vocabulary related to the visual arts, learn to distinguish various genres and periods of art, and recognize and appreciate masterpieces of Western art. The role of art in history and society will be discussed and students will develop an enhanced appreciation for the value of art in their own lives. This class provides students with high-quality instruction, including all required digital learning materials, class activities, platform access, and instructional services for the duration of the course. The total cost is $570 per semester covering all items listed with no additional fees. The course is delivered asynchronously and is a college class designed for grades 9-12+. Classes run from the date of purchase and end when you finalize the materials in the course.
