About Course
In Grade 5, students will learn about the Earth and the cosmos through guided classroom experiments and Socratic discussions that push learners to puzzle about the mysteries and contradictions of natural and physical phenomena. Beginning with the solar system and expanding into deep space, students will start the year with an appreciation for the incredible vastness of space, using digital resources to contextualize and understand just how unbelievably big the universe is. After studying the inconceivable enormity of stellar nebulae, students will zoom in to the unbelievably small world of particles and atoms. With hands-on experimentation, students will understand how matter behaves when undergoing changes, both physical and chemical.<br><br>This rigorous 5th Grade curriculum is designed to be both comprehensive and flexible. Each subject is delivered through instructional videos and self-paced, asynchronous assignments, allowing students to progress at a pace that suits their individual learning style. Parents or guardians will assist scholars in completing assignments sequentially, ensuring mastery of each concept before moving forward. The course offers flexibility for families while maintaining high educational standards, promoting both independent learning and guided support where needed.
